F3 to Integrate Keyfile's Award-Winning Workflow Technology Into A
Highly Graphical, Workflow Solution For Electronic Forms
CHICAGO, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Reflecting each company's commitment to provide customers with best-of-breed form and workflow solutions, F3 Software Corporation, a leading provider of electronic forms software, and Keyfile Corporation, announced an agreement in principle to enter into an OEM agreement, today at the AIIM '96 conference. Under terms of the OEM agreement, F3 Software will bundle and resell Keyfile's workflow technology for the Microsoft Exchange Server, Keyflow, as part of the F3 Server(TM) forms management solution. As the industry's most open and easy-to-use, enterprise-wide workflow solution, Keyflow will enable F3 Software to provide customers a highly graphical, 32-bit workflow and routing solution based on its flagship F3 Forms(TM) Release 3 electronic forms design and management product(A).
Keyfile's flexible workflow technology features an object-oriented desktop metaphor, characterized by intuitive icons that enable users to graphically map out and create workflows with simple drag-and-drop steps.
When integrated with F3 Forms Release 3, electronic forms designers can easily design and link forms to graphical workflows, providing users with a comprehensive, easy-to-use solution for automating business processes such as filling out, routing and processing expense reports and purchase orders.
F3 Forms Release 3 is a next-generation, graphical application development environment, which enables Fortune 1000 companies to rapidly build cross-platform electronic forms applications. F3 Forms Release 3 is the industry's first 32-bit visual forms development environment and allows designers to develop enterprise-wide electronic forms without needing to learn a proprietary programming language.
F3 will incorporate the Keyflow technology into the workflow component of F3 Server, a comprehensive line of client/server products that simply and automate the deployment and management of enterprise- wide electronic forms. In addition to workflow, F3 Server products will provide solutions for electronic forms management and administration, Internet functionality and print/merge capabilities(A).
"This announcement emphasizes F3's commitment to partner with leading companies that offer best-of-breed technology to provide customers with robust, open and comprehensive electronic forms solutions," said Geoffrey Cronin, president and CEO, F3 Software Corporation. "Adding the workflow capabilities of Keyflow to our electronic forms technology allows us to provide customers with the enterprise-wide, client/server routing and tracking capabilities they demand."
"We are pleased that F3 selected Keyflow for integration into its latest electronic forms product line," said Keyfile's vice president of marketing, Roger Sullivan. "By joining our technologies, we can provide electronic forms users with a robust solution well-suited for the demands of mission-critical business processes."
The F3 Server management product will be commercially available in Q3 1996. Pricing and availability will be announced at the On-Demand Digital Printing Show, April 22, 1996.
Keyfile Corporation, a privately held company established in 1989, is the leading provider of full-function, client/server-based document management and workflow software for automating business processes. Keyfile software enables users to electronically handle every office document -- both paper and electronic -- by providing a complete tool for filing, retrieving, sharing, distributing and automating document management. Keyfile has over 2,000 systems installed worldwide, with more than 45,000 users, and is distributed in over 50 countries.
F3 Software Corporation, headquartered in Burlington, Mass., developed the de facto standard for electronic composition and design of pre-printed business forms with F3 ProDesigner(R). Millions of business form templates in use around the world today are designed in the patented(A) F3 format, far more than all competitors combined. Companies that have invested thousands of hours and millions of dollars in the design of paper form templates can preserve these investments when they migrate from paper to electronic forms using F3 Forms. In September 1995, F3 announced an equity investment by The Standard Register Company, a leading U.S.-based business information management company.
