Fed: IT program to go ahead

Billions of dollars worth of government contracts have been frozen after the federal
government last night agreed to push ahead with its contentious IT outsourcing program.

The decision came after an internal public service report backing the move was made
public yesterday.

Finance Minister JOHN FAHEY last night released the 10 recommendations made by a three-person
committee appointed to review the outsourcing program which is three times over budget
and two years behind schedule.
