Danny Donohue held onto his seat as president of the Civil Service Employees Association, but several more local races, including one in the Capital Region, remained too close to call as of Wednesday.
After a day of counting some 40,000 ballots in an unusually strong turnout, Donohue, 55, pulled off a solid win, claiming a majority 51 percent of the vote against two challengers, Patrick Ellis and Bill Walsh, both 41. It will mark his third term in the $125,000 a year post.
