DBS tells FCC to tread easily.

Satellite broadcasters last week warned regulators that their growing popularity will be jeopardized if the government gives in to cable operators and public advocates' requests for more regulation of their industry.

"The public interest in continued industry growth and competition will be enhanced by continuing to regulate the [satellite] industry with a light touch," DirecTV officials told the FCC.
